Why is writing a fiction query letter so important? In publishing as in life, you only have one chance to make a great first impression. And a query letter is your one best shot to get an agent or an editor to actually read beyond the first page! Learn from one of the top editors in New York on how to structure a persuasive introduction to you and your work. What in your biography or experience is likely to get an agent or editor’s attention? How much plot description is enough or too much? And all of this ideally should be no more than a single page.
Bring your best version of your query letter and learn what you are doing right and what you may need to correct or reconsider. This workshop is limited to a small group and will be very interactive.
This is an in-person writers workshop, held at the Pat Conroy Literary Center as part of the annual Pat Conroy Literary Festival. Limited to 7 participants; $100/person.
